This is the worst, most unhelpful organization I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. On two occasions I have required the power cut on my home in order to complete work and both experiences have been exercises in blood pressure management. Unfortunately there is no other option but having to deal with them so essentially they can do whatever they want on whatever timeline they want. Reviewing them is basically useless but it does feel kind of good to share. Good luck if you ever have to reach anyone with any authority of semblance of helpfulness.

For 5 years I was incorrectly billed for someone else's water. After fighting with Alectra for over 13 months; they finally agreed with my landlord and I that we were paying each other's meters in error. Alectra refused to go back to the beginning of my contract and have recalculated bills only for the last 2 years. I was paying 2-4 times the amount of water I was using depending on the month. It's inconceivable to me that Alectra would force a customer to pay for utilities that I didn't utilize because THEIR STAFF incorrectly entered the meters in their system. I have notified my local MPP as well as the Minister of Energy and have sent a letter to the head of Customer Service, Jan Humphries. I look forward to seeing Alectra take responsibility for their errors rather than making hard working Ontarians pay for their mistakes. I'm running a small business and it's mind-boggling to me that they can get away with this. This has usurped precious time as well as financial and emotional energy from me. Worst of all, I have no choice but to remain a customer. It sickens me.

My bill for this month was 170...for an apartment. I'm very conscious of not leaving lights or my air conditioner on constantly. My father is in a house double the size and his is 60. Absolutely ridiculous.

I needed some information on passed bills from before they took over and they were very helpful and kind to deal with
