AMAZING!! We were able to do two single day trips this year and both times were different but both amazing! The one day we had an all female crew, and it was so empowering and awesome!! Island Lake follows pandemic restrictions well. I felt safe the whole time. The food was yummy. Ended our perfect cat day with a refreshing Fernie beer.

Nice spot in the summer for hiking and dinner after. The trails are well marked and lead to spectacular vistas. The Spineback Ridge moves from the lake shore through a progression of forest to a rock slope then the ridge. In mid-July the flowers were at their peak with dozens of varieties competing for our attention. Above the ridge another loop trail circles the peaks but was not clear of snow. Fully recommended.
Had a wonderful trip on March 20th. From start to finish the Island Lake staff hit it out of the park. We lucked out and had amazing conditions with fresh snow daily. Our guides Nikki and Brenda were outstanding. We always felt safe and looked after. Andrew our Cat driver was equally impressive. Food and accommodation were very good. Thank you to the staff on this trip. I you are considering a Cat Skiing trip Island Lake needs to be on the list.
Island Lake Lodge's cat skiing is amazing!! In spite of the fact that we didn't have fresh snow our guides did an excellent job of finding some amazing terrain and awesome snow. I can't wait to return when there is a foot of fresh powder!! In addition the accommodations are great and all the people were amazing! I have nothing but wonderful memories of our cat ski tour!!
Hiked to old cedar growth trail from the parking lot to the lodge and back. It was so beautiful. 800 year old trees along the trail. I was in awe of nature and its beauty. The hike is moderate with some challenging up hill spots but once you get to the lodge the view at the lake is spectacular.
Incredible experience. From check-in, until we were so tired we couldn't ski another run. Best ski trip I have ever experienced. The lodge manager and staff were incredible. Our guides Steve and Brendan along with our cat driver Joe made our skiing days safe and epic. I am definitely going to return with friends and colleagues.
Outstanding experience on all levels. Felt safe and in very capable and professional hands in terms of the Cat ski team- driver and guides. Very comfortable surroundings, and deluxe food. Cant wait to go back.
We took the Old Growth trail up! It was beautiful plus lots of spots to play hide n seek! The lake is stunning, they rent canoes, the lake is stocked too! Definitely a great place to get the mountain fresh air and views.
