Southern Lakes Resort is an excellent resort & restaurant to visit in the winter season in Whitehorse. It is located away from any civilization on the shore of the Tagish Lake which is frozen during the winter months. It makes for an ideal spot for skidooing, winter hiking and hockey/skating on the lake. Even the food at the restaurant is delicious though a little pricey. But, being an isolated resort, it is worth the price. We did not stay at their cabins, but it would be a great place to stay and hope to catch the northern lights on a clear night. I would visit this resort again (in winter) for sure.

The dining environment is very good with beautiful scenery. About an hour and half from downtown Whitehorse. I ordered a bison burger.

This is a 5 Star!! Best place we have stayed in the Yukon. Stay here and you will be amazed.

A fantastic little hideaway located about 20km (the entrance is about 6km past Tagish) Southwest of Tagish. A great spot for a weekend stay with cabins. We were here for a Father's Day lunch and the view and food did not disappoint! The friendly service staff are a mix of Australian, New Zealand, German, and Swiss and are a fun group to talk with. The menu reads both European and North American and from full mains to light appetizers. The BBQ Pork burger was delicious and was a flavourful patty inlieu of your traditional pulled pork. You can tell the care that goes into the cooking. And although we didn't stay overnight this would definately be a nice little retreat and less than an hour from Whitehorse!

What an experience! We spent the week of Christmas at the resort. Northern lights made an appearance. Our cabin over-looked the mostly frozen lake. Very friendly staffs and chefs. Amazing meals every night. We did a small hike with a guide and dog sledding with an incredible team of dogs. One suggestion I have would be to have a heater in the bathroom. But it has been an incredible week! Thanks Craig and team!

This resort offers a unique wilderness experience with only 8 log cabins nestled up against the lake. I highly recommend this experience if you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy nature and the amazing northern lights. Loved every minute.

A real hidden gem ! At the end of a 10km gravel/dirt road but manageable with a regular car, don't worry. In fact, it's accessible all year long. The food is crafted with local ingredient, the service is serious and attentive and finally the environment is gorgeous. Went for my wife's birthday with my son and it was a memorable experience. I even managed to walk on the dock to dip my toe in the water of the lake. My advice, go see yourself, you won't regret it !
