We have a fleet of 25 trucks. We needed a specific truck and inquired at Points West if they could source one for us. Within a week, they got back to us with a truck that fit the bill perfectly. We had never dealt with Points West before but did not have the time or in-house expertise to go looking at numerous trucks around the province in order to find one that we could put through a thorough examination by our garage. We chose to trust them that they would deal in good faith. We purchased the truck over the phone and they agreed to conducting a variety of tests and any remedial work that was required in addition to adding a mid-sized lift gate. They did all of the work they promised (and then some). They delivered the truck to our mechanic who performed a thorough once over on it with no surprises or remedial work required. We did not haggle on price as we were looking to build a relationship of trust with a supplier. We are very happy with our first purchase and look forward to the ease, value and speed of trust that will come from this relationship the next time we need a vehicle.
Great experience with this company! I just bought a 2005 Astro Van. It was in really good condition, only needed a couple minor things done. They did the repairs at a very reasonable price. It passed an out of province inspection (I am from Calgary). I worked with mainly Wayne and Steve, very personable and honest people. I will need more work vehicles in the future and will come back here for sure. You can tell they really do care about their customers! Thanks guys.
I have nothing but good things to say about Points West. They stand behind what they sell and their owner is honest and an old school kind of business man, he says what he means and means what he says. Refreshing in todays world. I have had more than one transaction with them and was very happy with what was delivered. I think you will be happy too.
Your best buddies until your truck is paid for, then if you have any troubles, (like the truck failing an Alberta CVIP for a loose rear axle, the new tires you were promised, were the oldest used new tires you ever saw, the "recently" changed oil with the old rusty oil filter, I could go on...) the only answer you will get is, not my job, I'm not the owner. Then they will ignore you. We purchased a truck Oct 23, took till Dec 6 to take possession. Box van we agreed to purchase was not the one installed due to "damage" They didn't bother to pick up the phone, they just put a totally useless van on it without letting us know. Constant reasons why it took so long for the truck to be ready, if you could get them to talk to you. Then you get an email from some guy, who represents them, and is going to "work with you", who keeps you hanging on for months hoping for some sort of resolution, as soon as 3 months are up, you get an email saying he's sorry, he can't help you. So thank you Points West for the months of stress, no sleep, worry, and repair bills that almost destroyed our small family business. In response to your response. I still have copies of all the texts that were sent. Promising new tires and my correspondence about the van being changed WITHOUT our knowledge. Feel free to ask, and I can produce copies.
I just bought a truck at points West commercial trucking. Very efficient, very easy. Excellent service. One stop shop. Got it all done in an hour and change. It was a really good idea for me to choose this company to deal with. Kevin
.... Very disappointed in their sales, service AND product... the truck we finally took possession of, after many weeks of delays and excuses, was not the truck originally agreed upon... their sales staff took it upon themselves to change the freight van without our consent or checking with us... The truck was promised with new tires, low kilometers, a fresh oil change, and a valid and recent Commercial Vehicle inspection... (all documented), and it had NONE of that... Upon delivery, we sent the truck to a legitimate, accredited licensed facility we have used for years, for an Alberta CVIP. where it failed miserably... among many things, one of the back axle shackles was loose... to quote the Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic there, "there is no way this truck should have passed a legitimate inspection"... After having the work done to make the truck SAFE, and new tires put on (at our expense), we put it to work.... it did not make the first day.... the engine has much higher mileage than promised and is completely wore out.... We had a second, legitimate Inspection facility run a full diagnostic inspection, and they confirm that we have been sold a lemon....To date, Points West has made no real attempt to correct this "mistake" or to make things right...they ignore our phone calls, our lawyers letters, and even the Mediator that they hired, (to stall for time), says that he can't believe that they are unwilling to make this right... we will never recommend their service to anyone... as a small. HONEST family business, this has cost us tens of thousands of dollars, and put our long established business at risk...
I can't not say enough GREAT things about not only the owner Wayne but his ENTIRE support staff including David and Steve. I needed to sell my 5 tonne commercial reefer truck due to emergency and Wayne from day 1 was a god send. First time he met me bought me coffee and told me "don't worry I'll take care of it". And from that day until the day of sale the entire process was as smooth as can be. David the gentlemen who is head of sales was very professional and extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable. When I needed help cancelling my insurance on the truck he personally met me at the autoplan after his day was over to help me which he didn't have to do. All the guys there kept me up to date These guys helped me so much with my sale I have estimated they easily helped me save at least 5000 dollars and not to mention so much time. I own my own customer service business and these guys are as professional as I have ever come across. They treated me like family and I truly appreciated it. - deep dhillon
