I have been coming here since a little girl and now we bring our kids here!! This place is amazing.. not only is it clean, safe but the staff is the most friendliest staff. The cottages are super clean with air conditioning. I will say that the tv has very bad reception and maybe 2 channels but who watches tv at a cottage (we bring board games). If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation this is the place to be!! You will not be disappointed!

The cottages were clean. They are old but relatively well maintained. The cottages are summer only dwelings. Good window mount A/C. The 3 bedroom cottages had 1/2 inch thick walls between the rooms. Kitchen fully accessorized. Meets bare necessities. Outdoor pool was great for the kids. Outdoor fire pit great. View of lake is amazing provided you don't have another cottage in front of you. Amazing fishing too.
Amazingly friendly staff and they are super helpful. The cottages are all clean and nicely kept, plus the lake is beautiful. Definitely a spot to take your family for a week long get away!

Our family has been going to Southview for 6 years now and we try different cottages on the resort. Some are small and some are a nice size but all are very clean. Some cottages have a full size showers while others have very small showers. If you book ask for a cottage with a full size shower. The air conditioner is a added bonus because it can get very hot and makes for a more comfortable stay. The staff makes you feel at home and are very helpful. The wifi well it can be better, because the best time to get a fast speed is early in the morning and if its raining out forget it. The tv only gets two stations and if you do a full scan you can possibly get a few more. I always bring a dvd player just in case it rains and we always seem to have at least one or two days of on and off rain. The pool is big and heated !!! always kept clean with lots of pool loungers. The property is massive with tons of room to play games that you bring from home or you they have a volleyball net, shuffle board and a horse shoe pit. There is also a play ground for the younger kids. You will find things to do because they have canoes and kayaks, wakeboards, pedal boats you can sign out for free and they supply the life jackets. The store is small not much they carry but you can go into town which is about a 20 min drive. We have done our research, looked at other resorts along Rice Lake and Southview seems to have it all comparing to other resorts. Yes the price is a bit too high and seems to go up every year by a fair bit and there will soon come a day I wont be able to afford to go. My suggestion on what to bring is spider spray, mosquito spray, dvds and dvd player, outdoor games such as cornhole, ladder golf , oh yes peanuts for the chipmunks !!! some will eat right out of your hand. If you are looking for a quite vacation with a fantastic view this is the place . You wont regret it.
Our family of four stayed here last week and it was one of the best cottage experiences we’ve had. It was our first time and will definitely be back. The cottage that we stayed in, the lake, and the customer service were beyond what our family had hoped for. This explains why this place has been around for a very long time. Everything about this it is well-maintained. This place is a gem! Big shout out to Sandy, Judy, Nola, and all the other ones who work tirelessly to make sure their guests have a wonderful time - just like we did! Keep up the great work. We just spent a marvellous weekend at Southview Cottages. The property is very well maintained, the owners work very hard and put a big effort to keep it pleasant, clean, well organized. You are doing a wonderful job! Excited to come back in September!!!
