I don't normally give 5-star reviews because perfection is rare. Of all the chocolates, cookies, cakes and random weird delicious things I've had from Cakes Cove, not ONE has been anything but delicious. I first tried Cakes Cove at a convention, then at the store, and then during a catered dessert for my club. In each case I found the staff friendly and warm, and the quality of the treats never waned. Cakes Cove is fantastic!

I absolutely love this place! It combines my two favorite things: sweet stuff and video games. The flavored chocolate bars and short bread cookies are delicious. I do recommend eating them quickly though. Sometimes the more delicate flavors (ex, lavender chocolates) aren't quite so pronounced after a few weeks. I only ever get to visit after work so the cup cake selection is usually very limited by the time I get there but it's always good. Cakes Cove uses butter cream frosting so it's safe for people like me with mild lactose intolerance! Definitely check out the chocolate sculptures at the back. Nothing is cooler than Mass Effect N7 armor. Except N7 armor made of chocolate! :-D
Gorgeous and creative designs for just about every geeky fandom you can think of. Courteous staff and a bright and inviting interior. It's always such a treat to visit Cakes Cove, even before you try the actual treats.
We are longtime fans of Cakes Cove and their tremendous, geeky creations, and did not even consider another bakery for our wedding cake. Sam is an artist, and the team is incredible. We booked early, as May 4 is an important date in geek world, and I am so glad that we did. Sam & co planned a taste test for us based on the certainty that we wanted chocolate cake, and accommodating pickiness from the bride and the groom. All of the options were delectable, and their (now unfortunately flooded and ruined; RIP) location on St. Clair West showed so much care and attention to detail. It was a beautiful shop, and I can't wait to see their new location -- the level of attention to detail and flourishes to make it a welcoming space were truly notable and I'm sure their new location will be equally wonderful. The cake was, as expected, a beautiful work of art and a decadent delight. I was stressed by the lack of responsiveness to emails in the run-up to our wedding. I recognise that they are certainly dealing with a lot as they leave their flooded premises and move into a new location, and I was reassured that they planned to reach out the week before to coordinate delivery etc. I still feel that a week before the date is insufficient, especially as a number of emails went unanswered in the month beforehand, which led me to question whether or not there would be a cake at our wedding at all. Also, sorry, but the last week is busy enough, I do not really want to organise deliveries at that point. But I think that is due to their loss of location/search for a new one/ongoing move more than anything else.
Amazing cake. Amazing customer service. The sweetest ladies and the sweetest goodies. Will be coming back here if I ever need a cake again; perfect buttercream, perfect moistness, excellent texture and thickness, and a good balance between spongy and dense. Lovely overall!
Cakes Cove is amazing. I've had 2 cakes from them now as well as cupcakes and chocolates. They are unlike anything I've ever seen before! Sam (owner) is a true artist and her dedication and skill shows in every cake and cookie they sell!
There's nothing you won't love about Cakes Cove. From chocolate bars to cupcakes to candied bacon you'll love it all or at least I do. And their red velvet cake is amazing too!!! This place is my new cheat day stop.
