You get borrowing privileges as an alumni. Alumni used to get A-Card but I heard it has been transitioned onto a smartphone app, which apparently needs to be verified in person with ID. Cutting the cost I guess?

Fantastic library!
Great books but I don't like the study areas. I wish they had high chairs and more quiet areas for studying far from book shelves.
One of the best multifunctional learning space in UBC. The highlight of Koerner is the lower level where a large collection of maps, atlases and Geoscience documents are held. It' also has two special computer rooms where one can use GIS and data analytical softwares. Another best feature is the thousands of Videomatica films and video collection UBC obtained in 2012. Available for borrowing or viewing at the designated stations in the library! The main floor is usually busy with reasonable amount of traffic and noise level. Comfy couches and long wooden tables for learners with a laptop, and good amount of computer stations avaialble.
Many a happy hour spent as a student in these halls. Endless stacks of esoteric knowledge locked away in out of print books and dissertations. Plenty of excellent study spaces. You can always find a room for a group project or a quiet study carrel where you can while away a few hours on work. Some of the graffiti have reached levels of sophistication, vulgarity and wit seldom found.
