This is my go-to place for bike repairs and tune ups. There's limited space inside, but somehow they get the job done with ease. As this is a popular LBS, make sure to plan on advance for a summer tune up, but turnaround is still really good, sometimes even the next day for a major parts replacement. Happy this place exists, great for the neighborhood.

Coffee is amazing and the staff are so sweet! They gave me extra milk because they were out of the cup size I ordered. I haven’t gotten a bike tune up here but I love the concept of cafe and bike repair. It feels like a lovely neighborhood cafe! I bike by here to work so I’ll definitely be back! Thanks for the lovely morning coffee!
Came across Velo Star while meandering my way on foot to Mount Pleasant - the window counter is adorable and the woman working was very warm and friendly, with both myself and the regular that was hanging around on the bench outside. I ordered the Reishi Cocoa latte with Oat Milk and was VERY pleasantly surprised at how un-sweet it was - I find specialty lattes very often are sugary, which I don't like - this one barely had any sweetness and instead let the earthiness of the Reishi and Cocoa shine through. Oat milk was perfectly steamed. Love the quiet, beautiful residential location in a former bodega as well. And love that they kept the bodega sign!
Best coffee in the area! Cafe staff are always super friendly. There can be a bit of a wait when they are busy, but it's definitely worth the wait.
Best Bike Repair Shop AND Cafe in Vancouver! Kat and Clint, the owners are the friendliest and nicest people ever. The cafe has home made cookies and muffins and other items. Kat runs the cafe and is so cheerful and makes a mean pat milk latte. Clint runs the bike shop and is a pro. He and the team do amazing repairs and maintenance on bikes and this is for sure the place to be and to get your bike maintained. Don’t miss it!
Velo star is super cute and I love everything about it. Clint is a reputable bicycle mechanic and does quality work. The cafe serves good coffee (from Elysian brewing,) and makes great sandwiches. I recommend the breakfast croissant!
Wish I could give more than 2... the coffee is always great, but this cafe manages to be the absolute slowest place to go. On more than 1 occasion I've been waiting in a line of no more than 2 people, only to wait over 10 minutes to place an order. most times I just walk away. Once you do manage to order, it can take an eternity just to get a simple beverage like an iced coffee. The location is cute, people are friendly - but this place needs to speed up!
