Non-residents can drive onto the ferry (back and forth every few mins) but the road is closed for COVID near the reserve and you can’t get through to do an island loop. Really nice lazy and quiet day or half day trip for the family - doesn’t feel like you are in Vancouver. Perfect for biking

Great place for photo ops. People are friendly. 5 stars.. would recommend
This was interesting and a surprise. A ferry that takes 5 minutes to go back and forth operated by one man. You don't find these kinds of experience as much anymore. And it's free.
You can't drive on to the ferry unless you live on the island. You have to bike on the island to the small park on it that is part of Surrey Bend Regional Park. It's only good for picnics during daylight hours. You can walk on the island but it is a long haul and a very narrow road ringing the island. I do enjoy watching the ferry go back and forth, it's boring but relaxing.
Free ferry using. Operating time is as below; Monday : 06:20 23:55 Tuesday : 06:20 23:55 Wednesday : 06:20 23:55 Thursday : 06:20 23:55 Friday : 06:20 24:55 Saturday : 06:20 24:55 Sunday : 06:20 24:55 First nation heritage area is not allowed to visit during COVID-19. So if you want to visit Mann point, you must go to left side from the port.
Great little tug ferry. Remember, you have to reverse off the ferry on the Barnston side and you have to reverse on the ferry on the Barnston side. Nice bike ride around the island.
Great customer service on the ferry. And a beautiful sunset
Beautiful views while biking around Barnston Island. Ferry was frequent, fast, free and fabulous.
