Anything related to ski is an alien language in my household until my 13year old went to Dagmar ski hill with a family friend. He wanted to pursue skiing as a winter sport. Didn't want to discourage him. After reading lots of ski store reviews, went to Senecal Ski shop for curbside shopping. We were greeted by a gentleman named Chris. What can I say about him? Truly a nice human being with a pure passion. Upfront, I told him that we are going to be trying the boots and we will NOT make a decision of purchasing. That didn't dampen his enthusiasm. He brought so many pairs of boots from inside for my son to try. I already knew that we had to have ski socks to try the boots. We purchased the socks and my son happily tried various boots. Chris gave lots of tips for how to put and take the boots. We purchased goggles and ski gloves. After spending almost an hour walked out with no boots but Chris gave us a work order with the boots information we shortlisted. I told Chris that we will take a week to make the decision. I couldn't find time to go back to the store. Not even once, the shop called to push me to purchase. Finally we went back around closing time and we were the last customer. We got the boots, ski and helmet. Again, Chris blew us off with all this information sharing. How to carry the skis over shoulder without getting hurt etc etc etc. I wish he could teach. Overall, a very happy experience and definitely recommend this place. Will be shopping again for my daughter's skis soon.

The Ski Shop in Newmarket has an outstanding staff, and a large variety of ski and snow boarding equipment. Chris is very knowledgeable and a super nice guy. He answered all of my “novice” questions with patience. He fitted my children in record time ensuring they get a couple years use out of the equipment. He even took time to pick out their favourite colours. We will only shop at the Ski Shop for all of our skiing needs. Thank you so much for a great experience.
4 kids, my parents, all my friends, 25 years of the best service, products and prices. There is no where better then this gem of a ski/snowboard shop. If you are a beginner, or heading out west to go back country, they have you covered. Jory Bocknek
The experience here is above and beyond what I expected. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Ian took time to figure out what I needed and explained in detail what the differences were with the different boots and skiis. Once I picked the best boot for myself he also heated them up and put me back in them to make them fit my feet like a bespoke suit. In addition, the staff upstairs gave the same amount of expertise and time in making sure that I left in the most suitable (and great looking) apparel for my needs. You will spend a bit more than another big box sports store but you will not receive the value that you get here. Also, support small business. Thank you
The guys here at Senecal ski & snowboard are amazing! I'm a new board owner and they took the time out of their day to show me how to properly setup my board, and what would need to be adjusted after I get a feel for it. Very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who asks. 5/5
