I had a bad experince with mental health in late 2018 early 2019. It was a mental break down/ delusion that lead me to being diagonosed. The stress of never meeting my possible siblings haunted me and started playing tricks on my mind and I was not well. I had experiences were I got fired for being ill and being told I cant have you here when we hear this ect.I was ask to go there years ago when I was first on probation and dealing with self harm and depression. But I did not do it. After some time of working on my self my case manager referred me to the housing team who have done nothing but help me and treat me like a person. I was very scared to come often at first and would only go sometimes, I was kind of not predgidis but scared to socialize with others who can relate to my illness. I met a guy there that I could relate to and we got along. Over time I started to feel welcomed, both by members and staff alike. The staff are all educated and compassionate people. I now feel comfterable here and it has helped me grow mentally and given me the chance to volunteer. I actually feel like im not looked at for my past mistakes or my mental illness. If you are looking for compassion help and a place to be I definitely recommend it. The staff are very helpful as well and the food is cheap priced and great. One of my favorite parts is talking with the others, helping out and getting to know members and staff more over time. Sometimes we feel alone and scared but for anyone reading this suffering know there is a caring place were you can be your self and grow!
I love Pathways. Their culinary program is phenomenal. Their food is bar none. Staff are wonderful. Good meeting place for other consumers of mental health.
I'm a person with disabilities and a Guide Dog on income assistance and someone gave me a ticket for a complementary lunch at Pathways Clubhouse, upon arrival at 8111 Granville Avenue in Richmond, BC, Canada, they took the ticket and acknowledge that it was from them and the person who signed it turned me down for the free lunch, saying that it was for members only (Which's not write on the ticket) and told me that it was a private property and asked me to leave (Without the free lunch) They are without honor and they have no respect for people with disabilities. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.
