Went to buy a new ski coat and winter boots and came home happy. Service was excellent - staff were knowledgeable and specific in their comments and didn’t rush to be done with me. I switched coats based on their advice, and after trying it skiing, I’m glad that I did. Customer service desk was excellent. They went out of their way to help me get an older coat repaired. Both items were very fairly priced (winter clearance) for the quality.

I have been to the store three times and my experiences were strikingly similar during each visit. There were some staff members who loved their job. What demonstrated this to me was their enthusiasm and excitement in talking about their adventures in life with other staff members... Mistakingly entering the washroom, as I believed it was the change rooms, I attempted to break up a conversation of three very excited staff members who, (two I had made eye contact with), were talking about there Saturday night. I waited for a break and their conversation to make my request. Then there are the staff members who seemingly hate their job. I actually asked this individual if they enjoyed working here. They told me ‘yes’ yet bared no smile. When I ask them if they like cross country skiing, they currently said no, that they were a rock climber. Overall, big store, overpriced merchandise that could be purchased at other stores were much cheaper. They do have some items that are store specific but as far as specialty clothing there are many other options. I have not been deterred from going, found it more interesting than anything, the juxtaposition of the outdoorsy vs. the store employee who could slip themselves into any retail store, earning a buck.
I’m not a huge outdoor enthusiast, but when I shop here it’s always one of my favourite retail experiences. It’s bright, well-organized and employees are always knowledgeable and helpful. My most recent visit was to purchase snowshoes, and the person who helped me (unfortunately I didn’t get her name) took the time to walk me through the various types available, and we found the one that was the most suitable for my (novice) needs.
One of the best places for Fishing and Hunting Equipment in Ottawa. There is so much to chose from and the staff here are extremely helpful and kind. I absolutely had a really good time shopping here and would recommend this to anyone without any hesitation.
Great place to get your outdoor activities gear, with knowledgeable staff. Finally reopened today after COVID shutdown.
