From the moment I reached out to Rio Stone, we were treated with some of the most tailored, respectful, professional and knowledgeable customer service I have received. Martin quickly provided a preliminary quote on some material, he was able to give us suggestions, offer to meet us and take us around to the suppliers of natural stones in the City. Let me empathize with you for a moment, like many trades and suppliers, there are so many options and so many fabricators to choose from, especially in Toronto. We were confused on who to go with, and there are so many things to consider, price, quality, advice, timing, service, aftercare etc. Believe me, Martin and his team at Rio stone will take good care of you. My counter was just installed so time will tell if I need service how he pulls through but if the experience I had thus far is any indication, I am comfortable he will take care of any issues that arise. Martin was able to provide options for materials, be flexible for sink options, edge profiles. They made us some transition pieces and shower jambs for other rooms. He was patient and helpful and overall came in with a competitive price. Sue was great with scheduling and we had a super quick turn around time from templating, which is great. His templater was friendly and accurate and the install team did a good job.

Sue is a pleasure to deal with. She promptly responds to phone calls and emails requesting information. Sue carefully provided a quote and helped us with our decisions about options such as sink size proportionate to counter. And when we should her our ideal stone, she quickly got the quote and we had it installed within a few weeks. By the way, her quote was among the best I had, and I got many. About Martin, the owner. They say one test of a truly great company is how it handles a challenge. There was some minor mixup at one point, and immediately upon my contacting the Company, it was resolved. Martin personally saw to it being corrected almost within minutes (actually, within 15 minutes). He was calm, sincere, on top of everything, and in general, a true professional. I will be happy to work with him and his company in the future. I Highly recommend them!

We get lots of compliments on our kitchen, and on the countertops in particular. Martin and Sue at RioStone understood all the different stressors that go into a renovation, and they were patient, helpful, and kind throughout the process. Delivery and installation happened on time, and the installers were friendly and neat.

Everything is great until the vendor gets your business. Warranty support is a different story. It takes several calls, emails from the customers to finally hear back. I am still waiting for a resolution. The installed sink had a product defect from the beginning. Three years later it chipped. As I said, dealing with after sale assistance is a painful process.

I called Martin for my quartz counter tops after reading many great reviews on Homestars. From the very first minute, until after the product was installed he was a complete professional. Having a business owner that does everything he says he will do and when he says he will do it, is a unique concept that many of the trades I've delt with over the years don't seem to grasp. I have renovated 7 houses over the last 20 years that required many trades and I can't think of many that were as good to their word as Martin. His employees were also excellent and they had to be as I am complete OCD and don't miss a trick. I would give him a 95/100 as nobody in my mind is perfect. We should all be cynical when reading a positive online review because we have no way of knowing that the business owner didn't write it themselves. I think in many cases they do. This company had lots of good reviews on homestars, but what it didn't have is bad reviews. We all know, that a pissed off customer will head immediately for their computer to air their grivences. No bad review to me means either they just started their business or, they are pretty damn good at what they do.
