Got 5-star service from Sophia in cosmetics (YSL counter)... I had no clue about makeup, was purchasing for a friend... Sophia did about 6 laps across the department store to help with all my requests & she was awesome. 100% would recommend

This review is for order pickups. The email for pick up mentions Curbside Pickup but when I arrived and called, the phone rang for a long time and then informed me via an automated message that Curbside Pickup was not available at this time. I entered the store to save time and had to ask multiple associates where the pickup counter was because there were no signs. At the counter, there were no employees and no one bothered to come over to ask if I needed help. By this time I had completed the online form to say I was at the store but no help arrived. I ended up asking a busy cashier for help and she pointed me to someone who fetched the shopping bag that was ready behind the counter. Despite a sign at the parking saying the first 15 minutes of parking was free, the associate said I had to pay the 2. I ended up spending 17 minutes searching and waiting for my order. (Not to mention the parking is quite confusing at Rideau Centre) The order items itself was fine. I had thought my order would have been ready for pickup on the same day but ended up having to wait an extra day. Slow pickup process?
I like Nordstrom. I like the merchandise, store policies and usually the employees are very helpful but this store is awful. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to purchase a coat online without trying on. It was snug but okay. When I went outside, the Canada Goose coat’s arms were actually cold and being tight, extra down will not help. So I thought I would return the coat that cost over 1000. I went to Rideau Center Nordstrom within 2 weeks of purchasing the coat. This was the first day it reopened after an imposed lock down in Ottawa. The personnel there refused to take back the coat saying the hang tags were removed and it had signs of wear. Really? I had the coat less than 2 weeks!! Now I am stuck with a coat that I cannot use unless I miraculously lose a bunch of weight to fit into it. Nordstrom has always had a very generous return policy and I should know, I have been a Nordstrom credit card holder since 1984. I find this store’s return policy and personnel to be rude and unbecoming of the Nordstrom name.
We'll set up displays and consistently clean. Workers are friendly and always helpful. I walk through here on a regular basis but unfortunately not something I am able to afford.

When Nordstrom came to Ottawa years ago I was uncertain about how a new department store would stand up to the headwinds of ecommerce. This store is one of my favourite places to shop. Their personalized shopping service and attention to detail has made them stand out from the rest. As a small business owner Nordstrom inspires me to do better, and to reach higher for my own clients. Their product selection is well curated and they simply offer the best of everything. The children's clothing selection is well organized and contains the essentials. A special thanks to the children's department and Sabrina for your excellent service and willingness to help over the years. Well done!
Went in store to return clothes. Staff were friendly, helpful and using PPE properly. Great experience.
