This store is so inspiring to me when I walk around and see all of the gadgets and gear that I can buy to go on my next adventure! I’ve bought rock climbing shoes and have started wall climbing. I always ask the associates for their opinion as they are very knowledgeable and friendly)) The gear that I have purchased is very durable and will last you a long time if you’re not too rough on them. I’m rough on runners, and I am absolutely in love with Solomon runners, they have an aggressive grip, which is great for trail running or doing a tough mudder course! Happy trails lead to MEC!

Tonight I went to MEC to look at sleeping pads. Kyla, who works there, came up to me within a few minutes of my arrival and offered to help. She inflated a pad for me and even let me lay down on two of them to test them out. She was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing the sleeping pad and based on her suggestion, a compression sack that doubles as a pump for the sleeping pad. I will agree with other reviewers though that often when I visit this location I have to search for an employee to help me. Also, there seems to be a lack of price tags on many items which is frustrating when you are trying to quickly compare prices. These are two easy things to fix that would make for a much better shopping experience. I’m excited to try out my new sleeping pad! Thanks Kyla!

Good service, good selection. Been a member since like 1990 so I would say I know MEC well. Prices might be a tad high but a pretty good store none the less. Beats the heck out of ordering online. Personnel were knowledgeable and courteous. Would much rather support a CO-OP like this than some American chain (Cabela's). We have to take care of each other and MEC is as good a start as any.

My boyfriend has been telling me that MEC is such a wonderful place and it carries a lot of interesting outdoor gears, so I went to this location yesterday and the entire experience was a total disappointment. It is true that the products carried by MEC are excellent and I enjoyed browsing around just to see so many creative accessories and products. However, OVER HALF (I am not exaggerating or anything) of the store's products do not have a price tag. I usually make a purchase decision regarding the price of the product, so the missing of price tags caused a lot of extra work for me to make my decisions. The staffs here do not know their products. I consulted a staff about a displayed espresso maker, I was curious about how to use it and he told me to read the instructions on the store computer. Even though he is very friendly, I still think that as a staff working there, he should have known the instructions already. The most unpleasant part of my experience was after I purchased the LED slap wrap. The wrap I chose had a price label of 16 something but the checkout price was 25 something, I was confused and pointed out this to a customer service guy. He said: 'it is because the one you are purchasing is rechargeable so it is more expensive and it must have been placed under the wrong price tag, but this time I will waive the extra cost for you.' What he was saying made me feel that I was the person intentionally placed the wrap in the wrong place and hoping to get a 9 discount. I explained to him that there are a lot of same wraps like the one I purchased are placed under the 16 price tag and suggested him to place those wraps to a right price tag, in case someone else get confused. However he seemed very impatient and did not respond to my suggestions at all.

Went to this place with a buddy after Sportchek and Atmosphere gave abysmal customer service. Looking for biking shoes. The guy that helped was amazing at his job. Really knowledgeable and was excited to talk bikes. He used to downhill bike but says he can no longer afford it, this is the place to go.
