This gym blatantly scammed me into a one year contract after I told them several times I wanted to be on a month-month plan. I got tired of arguing with them so I called to cancel my membership and pay the extremely high cancellation fee. The lady on the phone told me to call back tomorrow to cancel for no apparent reason... Don't believe a word they say. Two of my friends also had the same thing happen to them. Just read the employee reviews LOL.

Overall, not a bad gym. I don't like how there is no natural light in this gym but that's just a personal preference. Aside from that, the gym is working towards being more inclusive of varying training styles.
DO NOT start a membership at this gym unless you want to be in it for life. I only use City Centre because that's where I went but this is more of a review for the company. The pandemic caused gyms to close their doors and I was still charged 6 more times. I was never offered a refund, just the option to use their online platform instead, which I did not want to do. I wanted to cancel my membership but they insisted I had to do it in person. I went into the gym, cancelled in person and my credit card was charged three more times. When you actually get to talk to a person on the phone, they only try to convince you (relentlessly) to continue with your membership when I mentioned multiple times I had found a different gym. I am out 260, this gym ONLY cares about making a profit, you are only a number to them. I would never recommend Gymvmt to anyone.
Really disappointed with this gym and how they've handled the whole pandemic and their loyal members. When the pandemic started and gyms were shutdown, I was notified by a staff member that I could put my account on hold and come back when I felt comfortable. Without my knowledge after the gym was reopened I was automatically getting charged without my consent. I guess they really needed money and instead of being up front with their members they just decided to quietly do a cash grab. If you are looking for a gym that is open and transparent with their members, maybe you should look somewhere else. Update: Contacted gymmvmt and they are not doing anything to help me. They are still pocketing my money even though I never requested my account to unfreeze. When I asked to freeze my account, I was told by an employee of gymmvmt that they were concerned with the health of all their members and would allow members to return when they were comfortable. I guess that was not the case and just the lip service they give their loyal members. In the summer when they were given a green light to open by Alberta health, they buried in a bullet point in a 1000 word newsletter that they would conveniently unfreeze everyone's account even if they did not request it. Not exactly transparent and I feel extremely underhanded. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed customer. Cancelled my membership and will never come back. Anyone thinking about coming to this gym PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you don't want to be duped.
Some guys who work out there are giving hard stairs feel like it if they like me or they had a issue with me.On top they said 102 and jasper location is close due to new owner of the building that was lie they told there customers as they have no money to pay for the ficilitie to run and I stop going to city centre, not honest to there customers and my bill in collections and I am tired of there call why would I pay that I told the world wealth to cancel it. But they didnt care
Overpriced, no communication between staff, after finishing a yr contract just before covid, In Sept I decided to go month to month told them I will pay cash every 2 weeks, 10 days into they take money out of my account, they had no permission to do so. They would not reverse it, said oh well we will fix it next time, um nope noone here can do their job, take responsibility, Other things is there no communication between staff, lockers are always dirty, trainers chat u up, extremely friendly until they realize you're not going to get a trainer, overpriced, I'm at crunch now and happy with my choice.
Pretty disappointed in my brief time here. I had signed up a few weeks ago, but ended up having to call their customer hotline because I couldn't access online to book. Turns out the employee that took down my information wrong got literally every single thing wrong on my profile. From my gender, to my birthdate and even my name even after I gave him my driver's license to copy off of. I called the gym and was told "we'll figure it out" but no follow up. I finally got a hold of their help line and the lady there was super helpful, but wasn't able to get me access to be able to book. Looks like they got my card info wrong too, because I haven't been billed for the membership either. Everyone was friendly, and I really liked the gym itself, especially how close it is to home, but I guess I'll cut my losses and find somewhere else.
Disappointed with the customer service. I was told I could cancel anytime when covid hit and called to cancel in, I was told I need to pay 90 for the cancellation fee but I don't have a contract. It was later resolved. Then I was told to give 30 days notice when I was specifically told I will not have to wait and I could cancel anytime once the gym reopens. Just another money making business. Once you sign in, they will make it hard for you to get out of it. Don't recommend.
