Wow, is all I got to say. I love sushi, this place totally met my expectations and more. This is going to be my favorite place. The rolls were amazing!!!. Sashimi was delicious! Unique with options, only because I find that its all relatively the same at sushi restaurants. Different options were great. Want a great sushi experience, dine here!.

Authentic taste with unique touches. Ika fry lightly dusted fried but not greasy. Perfect appy/side portion. Ramen: huge serving, interesting contrast of textures. Chewy crunch of the bamboo shoots (over the bland but also crunchy mushrooms: to me can be left out) then the soft boiled eggs, and the meaty tasty pork belly. Broth can be left with deeper long slow boiled depth of flavour as the traditional bone broth or miso based which I was trying to find. Maybe the miso ramen has? Tantan pork was new to me- surprisingly super tender and marinated in some 5 spice and Lea Perrins kind of melded taste. The highlight of the meal: and always the measure of a good sushi place to me is the Sashimi. This is spot on. Melt in your mouth fatty grade tuna (Toro I think are the more lean cuts- which my plate didn't have), not sure if the other lean white fish was bream(?) and the surf clam straightforward lean and, the pretty standard pink salmon: thick cut was its saving grace. I wonder if wild caught Coho Salmon can be considered for sushi grade- healthier and wild caught. And the sweet giant scallops- always the best to have in a sashimi plate to highlight it's smooth delicate texture in raw state with a squeeze of lemon or a dab of wasabi paste and a very light dip on soy. Not even oysters can parallel this maybe the BC spotted shrimp (raw) as to the fresh sea taste. Ironic as it may sound great seafood meant to be eaten raw will have that delicate sweet taste to them- not the strong odour people associate with the term 'fishy' like the fish guts must've accounted for. The soysauce as most authentic Japanese restaurants must strive for- should be traditional brewed Japanese soysauce- just a request. Traditional sake etc: Alcohol is served here, but indulge responsibly.

Food has been amazing here. Especially the sushi pizza is one of our favorites. 5 stars and will definitely recommend family and friends.

Food was delicious! The oysters are a must! Fresh ingredients! I find the rice here is warm and soft for sushi rolls versus its sister restaurant Yujiro.

Beautiful atmosphere with good food and mediocre service. From the moment you walk in there's a zen aesthetic in its tasteful decor. The music was a bit more poppy (it's an Izakaya so it makes sense) that livened up the place. Normally I don't like sitting in the open but the way they have the place laid out, I would have been fine sharing my space in the center (that's where they have communal benches, while along the walls are booths for more privacy) The skewers we tried were fine. Standout dish: beef tongue with pickled tomatoes Both the Ramen I tried were good to very good. I've had better noodles elsewhere but their soup was better than I was expecting. We combo'd it. I was confused by the warmed kimchi but found that I actually rather liked it. On the other hand the cold tofu it was paired with I could have done without. The squid skewers that went with the other combo were very good. Better than the other skewers we had earlier. Service was mediocre. Nothing outstanding About it. We did get plenty of refills but not too much talk about the menu. It was my first time here. The bill was such a mess that I can't figure out how much things actually costed. She was friendly, but I felt wasn't very trained or polished. I heard the menu changes often however. So not sure what might be on it next time we show up. I would return. Hopefully the service improves on our next visit because this is easily a 5 star if that were the case.

My friends told me this was a tapas place. It is not, even though it was on the sign. Was not busy and lots of seating. Nice decore. Tables are quite far from the benches. They move, but then you have no backrest. Service was appropriate but a little slow for how many guests were in the restaurant. Server was very kind, sweet and knowledgeable. Drinks were good, Sapporo on tap, score! Lots of nice cocktails. Food was amazing! Double amazing. Come here for great food. One item on feature menu was not good Yuki roll. And I did order a second cocktail but it did not come. Otherwise we will be back. Great job GAIJIN.

Quite disappointed with the lack of options for take out. I had the shrimp gyoza and it was extremely greasy. Would not recommend & will not be returning.
