I hesitate to leave a negative review as clearly they're doing a good thing here, however I've emailed 3x to adopt with no response, and called to find # out of service. My only concern is the well-being of the fur babies, and that they find their forever homes.

Emailed 2times no response. It seems llike they have heart in right place but someones droppong the ball over there.
I have send 2 emails asking about one of the kittys and never got a response in almost 2 month's and they have no phone number!!! Shame on you guys!!!
This shelter has taught me so many great things. For example taking good care of animals, cleaning, washing dishes, changing foods (wet and dry) and giving the cats the proper care that they need. Not only has Janie taught me those things, but she also given amazing advice on how to clean, and how to take care of animals for my future career which is a Vet Tech. This place owns a special place in my heart, and I definitely recommend this shelter to those who will take it seriously. Thank you Desperate House Cat Rescue Society for helping me learn these things, and a special thank you too Janie for guiding us volunteers, and taking care of such wonderful creatures. I have read other reviews on how there is barely any interaction with the cats, but I would like to state that those remarks are false. We have interaction with the cats all the time we're there.
Working at this place teaches you skills essential to keep a house tidy, especially if you are the sort of person who doesn't work around your own house. There are numerous examples like learning to do dishes, sparkling walls by wiping off any marks; wiping windows; wiping and sweeping the floors; dusting furniture, and the list goes on! I'm a relatively new volunteer here, but for the time I've worked here, I'm grateful for those experiences. Not only that, since this IS a cat shelter, you also get to develop animal skills like cleaning after them, replenishing their food bowls, etc. It's a very interactive place to volunteer at since the cats have the entire house to themselves, so wherever we work at, we can pet and play with them as well. The last thing I definitely want to add is a shout-out to my supervisor, Janie, whose guidance is preparing me on how to deal with managers/ employers out in the world. Overall, I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is keen on learning a wide variety of skills needed to become self-sufficient!
