My wife and I entered this office only minutes apart. For my Japanese wife, the security guard greeted her with 'What do you want?' in those exact words. For myself, a caucasian, it was 'Hello' and a gesture to where the hand sanitizer was located. All I can say is this; if you hire someone to greet people at the door. at least ensure they treat all who enter with respect.

There is this one woman staff with unbelievably bad attitude. I was put on hold for a long time and no one was responsive. I thought the connection was lost so I hung up and called back again. This lady picked up and first thing she said was “you have to wait”. As I already put my question as clearly as I could, she still said to me in a very condescending way “you have to speak clearly”. I don’t want to judge on her English skills but the way she reacted made me very very uncomfortable. She also questioned me many times as if I was lying or something and was very reluctant to offer help until the very last moment. I felt like I was being questioned and treated like someone guilty the entire time. I would say I’ve never experienced such a horrible customer service either in Japan or in Canada for my whole life. I did not say anything rude to her and I think the way I talked to her was fairly reasonable. I have no idea what I did wrong to receive such a rude service. Overall I do not think this staff is a reasonable representative of Japan.

The worst visa applying center, has only one window for both visas apply and visa pick-up. The security doesn't know how to speak English and loves to walk around the people while singing. The photo attached shows they changed my pick-up day when I arrived on the 17th because one of the male representatives whose English is weak and can't explain then decided to let me come back a week later.I can't believe they represent Japan and I'm very disappointed about this kind of service.

Usually no wait time for Japanese passport renewal. Simple renewal(no chanes) takes about 1 week. During Covid-19, about 10 business days.
