Just returned from a weekend with 3 other first time backcountry campers. We opted for the Ultimate Canoe Trip Package and entire experience was exceptional from beginning to end. We arrived the night before our trip and stayed in the tent cabin accommodations. (we were glad we had brought our own toilet paper for the first night as there was none in the bathroom onsite) . Super impressed with the stores attention to distancing protocols and detail surrounding the safe pre-packing/ contactless distribution of equipment in covid times. We enjoyed their continental breakfast on the dock before getting our kit and a lesson surrounding our route/outfitting. We simply added our clothes and toiletries to the packs they gave us with sleeping bag, sack and pad, tents, tarp, saw, and pretty much everything else we needed including a loaded food barrel, cookware, dishware and more. We drove 20 minutes to our entry point where our canoes were waiting for us. A short paddle later we experienced our first portage which while challenging was obviously selected with care as managable for first timers. When we finally saw water, we were pleased to find our final destination close by and enjoyed sharing the lake with a pair of loons. We loved everything about our campsite and had sufficient privacy despite nearness to the portage route. We ate like royalty and were particularly excited about the steak, potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli. A special thank you to Emily who did our onboarding for sending us out with such confidence. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite outfitters. Good selection, great prices, friendly knowledgeable staff, and maybe the best place to get information about trail conditions. Worth a visit 100%

Rented an Ultralight Canoe for our 4-day fall portaging trip around Algonquin (Smoke L > Big Porcupine L > Grace L > Harness Lake > Smoke L). Experience was superb start-to-end. Algonquin Outfitters were very accommodating to us changing our reservation (twice). The pickup process was very quick and efficient and the equipment was in good condition. The gentleman at the canoe pickup booth was super friendly and offered some very good advice on oar selection. He further helped us strap the canoe on the car so we could transport it to Smoke Lake. Even though they close at 5pm they provided an easy process to drop off the equipment after-hours which was instrumental in us being able to stay flexible in our schedule. Overall an A experience, will definitely be renting here again!

It was a busy morning on labour day weekend and the guys still got us out of there in 10-15 minutes which was impressive. Paddles of all sizes, well organized and friendly staff. We got 4 canoes for 8 guys and had no issues on a long & rainy 3 day portage. The canoes we got were awesome (if a little heavy @ 50 & 70 lbs). I recommend booking well in advance for your pick of canoe

Another great experience with Algonquin Outfitters. We had the full outfitting package and were impressed with the equipment and the food. An easy and effortless way to enjoy Algonquin.
