The staff are always incredibly friendly. However, I brought an older but functional bike here for service, explaining that I was going to start using it for commuting and wanted to make sure everything was working well and in good condition. They took it in for a general tune up, charged me 50 and said everything was great. A month later I ended up at a different shop needing a quick flat fix. That shop told me that in quick visual inspection while fixing the tire they noticed a multitude of problems with the bike: tires badly cracked and needing replacement, brake pads old, oxidized, cracking and needing replacement, brake pads not contacting rim, and rear axle bent. Explains why I had felt the braking wasn’t very good since I started riding it! I’m not sure why Cranky’s either didn’t notice or care to tell me about these problems, as I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have happened in a month of 30minutes biking 4 times a week, on a bike that is 6 years old (and not serviced in those years). Disappointed with that servicing experience, and likely not to come back.

Excellent service, knowledgeable staff. A great 'little' local independent bike shop.
awesome bike shop with awesome staff. I picked up a winter bike on craigslist which needed a tune up. the difference in ride quality before and after the tune up was night and day.
My bike needed some attention after the miles I racked up on my paper route. Making a decent job when you're 13 is not easy. I managed to scrape up some savings and the pay I had collected over the months. So went to the bike store with 5 stars I had checked carefully online. My bike's condition was, at best, faulty. The front 'quick release' axle had fallen out. Slipped out, like a banana peel. Also the gears would stubbornly refuse to shift. and the front brakes decided to give up their ghost. The staff on duty that day, Jeremy, worked it out very nicely. I also asked him to get a basket for the bike so I could do my said paper route. He estimated the cost, which was very reasonable for little me. A week later he told me the bike would be ready, then, recieved a call from Jeremy that there was a problem with the rear brake pads, they were contaminated with oil. He said they could still work, but would probably not work properly in a while. He asked if I wanted to change them, and I answered what the cost would be, he said that the pads themselves were 6, and the labor was 10, and if I would like it, he would have the bike ready by 3 in the afternoon. So I picked it up at the time, and the bike was clean and beautiful. The final cost was close to his estimate. Now my revived bike with its basket has increased my efficiency of my paper route by double. Thank you Jeremy! : ) From:Jeffrey
Decided to check it out today as I was looking for a helmet. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, lots of selection and very reasonable prices (50% cheaper then a comparable product at MEC). Don't let the building size justify anything, the inside is bigger then the outside. I would recommend this place to anyone! :)
