I shop at Buckerfield's because I have animals that eat hay and chicken scratch, but I also have dogs and I purchase specific dog food brands there. This chain has a long history, and when I go there it always brings back memories from when my parents shopped there when I was a child. At that point in time it was strictly a place farmers went. It has certainly changed and stocks many more products than when I was a kid :-). It has nearly every kind of dog food and a wide selection of treats for animals of all kinds, such as birds, hamsters and so on. And cats. Of course they have things for cats. They also have some interesting toys for children that are of a higher quality than many stores, a limited selection of clothing items that are unique, gumboots, horse toys, brooms, flower pots, and in general lots of 'down-home' stuff. There are a few surprises if you start looking around. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because I find the prices a wee bit high. However that's just one person's opinion. I'm a shopaholic and I'm always looking for a good deal. And sometimes they have good stuff on sale :-). In general, it's a cool store to look around in.

Always someone available on the phone or in person to help you find what you need. They've special ordered fencing stuff to the store for us and easily beat the price of other stores. Staff are great to deal with. Keep it up!

Don't expect to hear back from them if you order something, and expect to pay more for dog food here. They do however have farm supplies which can co.e in handy.
