I arranged a fundraising site on Facebook for CMHA Vancouver Fraser. There was some concern that the funding was being received so I contacted the Vancouver office of the CMHA on Quebec in Vancouver. I’m elderly and stuttered when trying to explain the situation. The receptionist with a British accent was exceedingly rude and put me through to someone with “more authority”. It was a voicemail set up in October ( this is December). I called back and she stated she didn’t know he'd gone out and hung up. I phone again to ask if they really wanted the donations and her line had gone to voicemail which also provided options. I chose an option which also went to voicemail. In each case I left my name and number. I have had no response. I’ve written Facebook to have the donation option removed - once I’m certain the donations are confirmed as received or returned to the generous donors. How important is a receptionist?

So far these people have been a godsend... I literal one-stop-shop resource of information. All of the counselors have dealt with the bureaucratic frustrations and have an empathetic ear.

These people do SUCH good work.

I volunteer for bicycle tours for this organization. I think their Ready, Set, Connect program is ideal for many people.

The secretary with the dark hair was rude and unhelpful. I tried to ask about the programs, but she refused to tell me and just directed me to the website. I left very disappointed.
