Hartland is a solid MTB trail network. The trails are old school, littered with roots and rocks. Lots of punchy climbing to get up to the modest elevation of 320m (ish). Lots of nice medium to big rolls and slabs. If you're into technical, tight and twisty trails and don't mind the punchy climbs, there are some good trails and beauty vistas.

South Island Mountain Bike Society carelessly destroys the beautiful Mt. Work ecosystem with an arrogant disregard for all other hikers and trail goers! Go find another mountain to wreak havoc on!!!

Best riding on the south island if you like rocky, rooty gnar with little flow. Great place to hone your technical skills.

A mix of very rideable green trails, blue moderate trails and some black diamond trails. The green trails are rideable by adults and kids who are novice and have general, basic bike skills. Buy a map from any of the local bike stores to help support trail maintenance and advocacy.
