Great hostel in the heart of the city centre (downtown). The staff were very nice and hospitable. I really recommend staying here if you are traveling solo and/or with friends. It is cheap, safe and convenient.

Good price and good location. The social space was great. Phone chargers in each bunk. Charming old building. Not sure if this is typical for Hostels in Canada but there were mixed gender toilets and shower room which was slightly uncomfortable. Maybe if the doors for the toilets and showers weren't small with large gaps on the two lateral sides, it would've been more manageable. However with the volume of guests at my time of visit, it was rather unpleasant. Also there were toilets not confined to a room but rather cubicles just in the corridor. There was a lack of ventilation in our dorm, which affected other members of my party. Although the kitchen and dining area appeared clean, I believe the kitchen utensils weren't. A free breakfast was provided, which is good for people as long if you don't have any dietary requirements or ALLERGIES! I ate nothing at the hostel however I did have one cup of coffee which resulted in me having a reaction to gluten meaning I was in bed and unable to go out with the rest of my group. I can only put this down to the coffee dispenser or mugs not being properly cleaned because this has never occured for me before. I am extremely careful and have resided in numerous hostels without having been contaminated with gluten. Maybe having a dishwasher would help instead of letting people clean there own utensils? It could be very dangerous with people with more severe allergies or even transmitting of illnesses.
One of the best cheap hostels I ever have been in ! It is English friendly. Employees speak many languages and they're very kind. It's in a good localization and the decoration is beautiful, it's also very clean.
Very cozy and affordable. Fantastic location (10 minute walk to McGill, and 5 minutes to the heart of downtown). All amenities available and very friendly staff.

Clean hostel with supportive staff and free breakfast. There was frequent cleaning and friendly staff as well as guests. Made many new friends through meeting other guests in the hostel lobby area. The hostel is close to many downtown attractions and restaurants in Montreal. Just west of the hostel is the Mont Royal with many paths to the top and the various attractions and viewing points up on the mountain.
