This is a real hidden gem, calm and sympa. Try the yurt for a romantic night in the woods.

Auberge du bout du Monde, which translates to English as "Hostel in the end of the world" truly deserves its name, in a good sense of course. It's located in a very secluded and quiet forested area, which as they mention on the website is not even accessible by a car in the winter, though they offer a snowmobile transfer service from the road. The first thing that would stun you is the way it looks from the outside - it's like a miniature wooden castle! Inside it is very comfortable, has several rooms each with a unique configuration, each sleeping 2-4 people, including several private rooms for just a couple. They also have a washroom and hot shower, front-loading washer and dryer (for an extra fee as far as I remember - we didn't need it, so I didn't inquire), as well as an amazing fully-equipped kitchen (with the only a microwave missing to make it complete). There is a shared fridge and a desktop computer should you be travelling without any wifi-capable device (which I assume is so rare, that nobody even turned it on during our two night stay). Everything inside is cozy and comfortable, and truly makes you want to come back or stay another night. Location is in the village (town) of L'Anse-Saint-Jean, QC, next to the famous Fjord du Saguenay, which is amazingly beautiful, and has various cruises in the summer. Winter offers some great snowmobiling terrain and a ski resort nearby. Bonus includes two lovely cats that live on the top floor (where the reception is) and/or outside - Ketamine and Jean-Batiste. Staff is welcoming and friendly, and speak English as well as Française. I'm hoping to come back there some day!

Auberge de jeunesse conviviale et bien isolée, idéalement placée pour accéder aux randonnées du coin. On regrette juste l'unique douche et l'unique sanitaire.

Belle ambiance. On a testé la yourte pendant 3 jours: un must!

Jolie auberge, chaleureuse et bien située. Le hic est qu'il n'y a qu'une toilette.
