Enjoyed the variety of activities. Went canoeing and kayaking for 3 hours daily. Hike through the forest was well marked. Hike near the golf course was also very nice. The bingo was fun... Thanks to Ella. Grounds are well kept and the staff are attentive.

Stayed here for 2 nights this week for the first time. We did the waterfront getaway with the sea doo which unfortunately we did not get to enjoy fully as the weather did not cooperate but they said we could return next year and get the full experience. What a charming place! So much to see and do! The food was amazing so kudos to the chef and the dining staff friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the kayaks and the boat “tour” and the walking tour with the general manager who is so knowledgeable. All of the staff were lovely. Unfortunately because of COVID the games rooms were closed and the inside pool renovations were not complete. We would have liked to enjoy a bike ride and a tennis game but it rained on our last day. There is so much to do. Bed was comfy and very quiet room. Yes the place needs updating but I think it adds to the charm. Would love to see some of the outbuildings being renovated into say a microbrewing beer pub or a yoga/meditation area.
We like this place a lot! 4 stars is only representative of the fact that Doug Ford has forced it to close during the Covid-19 fiasco. Excellent site with great facilities, including golf course, tennis courts, walking trails, etc., and a very nice dining room (when it's open). Great for a weekend away, a business getaway, or just a very nice lunch. And right on the lake, so beautiful scenery. Amazing place, excellent location, great service, good food. Nothing missing for a great experience.
Great service and great food, they did a fantastic job accommodating us on our wedding day (during Covid). The room was cozy and the grounds were beautiful. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond, would recommend to everyone. I rarely give out 5 stars but this warranted it. Special thanks to Michelle, Bob and Roseanna who made our special day extra special. Thank you guys so much :).
Beautiful courtyard to eat in, and great service. Prices are reasonable for what you get. The ginger beer drink with mint was delicious!
When we stayed in the Briars' cottage properties in 2013, the service was impeccable from front desk staff, hospitality, to housekeeping service. They had a shuttle service and staff that moved to and from the main property to the cottage to ensure our stay was memorable. In my recent stay in 2020, the management of the cottages has moved to Waterlily Retreats which operates completely separate. Feels like we didn't even stay at The Briars. No housekeeping, minimal touchpoints, and a completely disconnected feel from The Briars. On the food quality, the food is still good, but at once it was great. I would still recommend family and friends to eat here today.
What a fantastic place to visit during the winter! We loved everything about our stay - the facilities, the food, the nature around and great customer service. Resort supplied us with snow shoes and we had a great time enjoying the walks around the resort. Five stars.
The Briar's has always been a great spot to visit. However my last visit was not favorable. The spa its self is looking tired and in need of a facelift. I had a back treatment which was lovely and my lady was professional and knowledgeable , however my massage was horrible. Not at all at a professional level. For the amount of money spent and the level of service I recieved I unfortunately won't be going back
