I agree with a previous review. I applied to adopt a dog from this group and never received any response at all. The adoption application is long and time consuming. I realize they are trying to find the best possible homes for these dogs but it left me feeling like I was an unfit dog owner. I have owned dogs all my life and take it very seriously. The dog I applied for was up for adoption for weeks if not months. I never received any recognition from them that they had my application but apparently they are known for not responding. If you read some of the other reviews you will see this. Honestly it is just considerate to respond to people as a common courtesy you would think. Would never apply to their organization again for this reason.

We adopted our fur-baby from this organization a few years ago. The vetting process is very detailed and takes a while but it's all for the benefit of ensuring the dogs get the best home for their needs. They are run by a few dedicated folks, keep up the great work!

We applied for a adoption for a dog. The website said to contact if you had questions so we did but no response after 2 weeks. We also spent several hours filling out the application and no response. Seeing the reviews in this organization I feel worried.

They asked me for a family reference. Seems so sweet and caring on the phone. Then pulled the dog from its new family by saying he was going for a vet check and they never brought him back. (He was perfectly healthy) Don't ever work with Home at Last Dog Rescue. They LIED to the family that surrendered their dog, and left the new family HEARTBROKEN when they LIED again and took him back. This is NOT THE FIRST TIME. ****It's their MO**** Immoral and unethical. Sad for the families involved and for the poor dog too.

I have been emailing and facebook messaging this rescue with general questions about their pups. They have been very responsive, quick to get back to me, and kind. Even if we do not end up adopting with them they seem very professional. I work in the veterinary industry and I hope people realize that rescues are incredibly busy as they are all volunteer based, and because of COVID some rescues have gone for 10s of applications to 1000s for sometimes just one dog. I also want to point out from some past reviews that you do not adopt a dog until you sign those papers, and the dog will remain legally the rescues and it is their right (and duty) to do what's best for that dog. Unfortunately when you have a dog with say a hundred applications, you are only making 1 person happy and potentially upsetting 99 others. It's not easy on a rescue to do that and is emotionally taxing to be upsetting dozens of people every week, but rescues do it because in the end it is the animals welfare that matters most in any situation. I thought I would just share my two cents from working in the industry.
