We've been coming to the Lower Mainland every few months for the past several years, and in that time we've been searching for a great dim sum place. We've been disappointed, up until now. The dim sum at Golden Lake was just perfect. Nice portions, perfectly cooked, good consistency, perfect balance of flavours -- everything was there. The manager was very friendly, and the atmosphere and decor was pleasant (although we could have done without the loud hen party that was going on at the next table, but that was hardly the restaurant's fault). Convenient location to boot! Easily accessible.

Reasonably priced great dim sum place. Fresh food even if you go at noon! Free parking in the front and big dining space. Highly recommended for bug groups and even small ones!
Reasonably priced and tasty Peking duck. The 2 course meal goes for just under 40. Consistently done well. Definitely a favorite peace for us. Service is standard for Chinese restaurant.
Awesome food. When it gets too busy the staff do make mistakes on a common basis. Best to go early than later in the evening.
I have been there a number of times on different occasions which included dim sum, a casual dinner, and a larger banquet meal. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Prices are very reasonable and Peter and Nick, the two "managers", as they call themselves, were always friendly and welcoming. As I have rated, the food is excellent. I am not a fan of curry but we had a very tasty dish of curried seafood fried rice on one occasion and on another occasion had curried beef. Those dishes were excellent with just a hint of curry flavour and not overpoweringly spicy. The dim sum dishes were large and flavourful. If you want to go out and enjoy a great chinese meal with excellent service with Nick and Peter and their staff, go to the Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant.
Unfortunately must change my review as I had previously enjoyed this place. We arrive on a not particularly busy morning and upon arriving at our table the menu was removed. The waitress claimed that she could not help us order and that they needed to wait for a manager to arrive. We waited 30 minutes without ability to order and when we complained to the manager, all we received was a blank face and the response "OK". This was the worst insult of all--no apology in any form. We've been here many, many times over the past few years and will never return. Be warned.
We had dinner here the first night we arrived in Vancouver. The waitress who served us was friendly and efficient. The Chinese food served was authentic, delicious and came in large servings. Good experience.
They serve good dim sum here for a regular price nowadays in Vancouver at about 15/person. The tables are pretty close to each other and the wait isn't very long.
