The food is usually pretty good. Just went following the lockdown. The price has skyrocketed from what it used to be. It used to be around 27 if I remember and now its 35 per person. Found this to be a bit crazy and unexpected since the quality is no different and nothing has changed fundamnetly about the bussiness.

AYCE Open during COVID (as of Sept 29th 2020)! The food quality is great, fast service and lots of options. For lunch time, there's sashimi, and beef ribs (typically only dinner). They have the iPads for ordering, bathrooms are really nice . They are maintaining cleanliness during COVID and the staff were very friendly. One criticism is I felt the crispy spicy crab was a little 'mall'-esque. It reminded of what you'd get at those stalls. If I'm being picky, they could offer more variety of sushi rolls as well.
Terrible staff, took a party of 5 instead of our party of 2, after telling us to wait for 40 minutes due to limited capacity. I get it, 5 people is more money than 2, doesn't make it right. Never coming back to this location.
The beef short ribs. Period. Also, this restaurant has brought back the normal beautiful plates instead of the styrofoam containers used during quarantine which is exciting. I am personally a sushi and sashimi lover and Makimono is the best place I've been to for the hard working servers, comfy booths, yummy food, clean washrooms, it also just smells so good in the whole place. Nice music too! I go all the time and I'm never let down. 10/10
I have been to Makimono many times and I love the quality of the food as well as the service. However, this time around, we ordered our food, and were given everything in styrofoam/plastic containers. I understand that we're living in the time of a pandemic, but this is definitely not the only option to choose if you're trying to keep things sanitary. We're also going through a pollution crisis and this is not helping the situation. Since they're not recycling anything either, we had to take it upon ourselves to take the plastic containers home and recycle them. If you have any regard for the future generations or our planet, please do not eat at this location for the next while. The Whitby location is not doing this, apparently this location is the only one.
