I run a very busy process service company in Vancouver, and sub-contracted a job to Associated Bailiffs in Prince George. The job was sent out on a rush-basis, and they had assured me that they could get it done before the Supreme Court service deadline of 4 pm. They then emailed our office at 4:10 pm saying they could not serve it before the deadline, citing that the email didn't come through until 3:40 pm even though we sent it to them much before that time. My client who was also cc'd on the email responded as soon as it was sent out. When I finally got the affidavit of service back from them, it contained spelling mistakes and inaccurate dates referencing when the court documents were filed. This further delayed proceedings and made me look very bad to my client. When I called and cited my concern, Eileen, their main contact told me to use someone else in the future and that they had done nothing wrong. I work in the same industry, and know the ins and outs of this business. The work they put in for a fellow process service company was less than professional, and I would not recommend their services to any other legal professionals, other process service companies or anyone from the general public.
