I love the idea of the apprenticeship, it's subsidized so pay very minimal amounts to go to school and you get the work experience in between to help grow your knowledge. My issues with it we're that they had misplaced my original application and told me I would have to reapply, a few days later a noticed the processing fee taken out of my account. I guess they found it which was good but no phone call or email to let me know. The absolute worst part for me is the application process, first come first serve starting on whatever day they choose. It's nearly impossible to get through the website crashes due to the amount of traffic and I even had it where my course wasn't set up properly in their system. It is a very stressful day. There are lots of people who are great for support along the way and I recommend not waiting to ask questions

I cannot believe you are making my daughter go to school for 30 hours during a pandemic! It is not the grade 12 students fault that school was shut down! 30 hours could have been attached to the job apprenticeship after high school...and to do this last minute, you should be ashamed of yourselves! Basically apprenticeship manitoba told the high school if they do not bring in the grade 12s to complete the 30 hours they missed during shut down they will have to redo it and will not graduate with their accreditation...absolutely disgusted!!

So took landscape horticulture it was a horrific nightmare. Imagine 5 to 6 hours a noght studying, 7 hours of speed notes on on topics that for the first 2 years of the course have absolutely nothing at all related to landscaping or horticulture even remotely, the occasional videos are minimum 30 years old and outdated before they were even produced. Tests are one or two every day and sometimes 3 or more going into weekends all that require 3 or more hours of study and filling in gaps with youtibe videos and great courses plus to pass. Yeah if you want to pass you better find someone or somewhere who has up to date material on stuff you are going to study for hours to forget instantly because you will nevee use it. Oh and to top it off they are all 70 passes and if you fail your done in the course as you camt rewrite the test till the end and you have to stay. Oh yes have to stay. Apprenticeship will outright threaten you with taking away your ei, having to repay 10 k they will come after you for, they will attemp to get you kicked out of your job, and everything they can think to keep you in the course for their numbers, and you are stuck in a course with zombies who dont care and have to fake interest to pass the days. Oh and it gets better, pass all your courses, get all your tests done, and try to figure out if you passed, you dont get your test scores, when rewrites are, or what vourses are finished and at the end ? Yeah you still dont get the 1000 grant noone does thats the secret not a single peraon does they will claim incomplete material your teachers are unreachable they dont respond or reply do anything and they all run away with your money. Its a scam the whole thing is a money scam and if your reading this run the other way you took a wrong turn.

Wrote my test October 13, 2019 and still haven’t gotten certified because David the training coordinator hasn’t replied to email since March 2020 and his phone mail box is full for me to resubmit the 60 hours I am “short”

Required assistance to complete my apprenticeship application and was a little confused with their new applications. Walked in with all my papers, but no appointment. Receptionist was super friendly, polite, and extremely patient with the clients in front of me which clearly were speaking french or english as a second language. She apologized for the wait, which at most was 5 minutes as she dealt with 4 other clients, was understanding of my situation and told me a coordinator would call me into their office shortly. Another 5 minutes passed and I was called in. Coordinator had a great sense of humour and seemed happy to be there. Admittedly, he was just as confused as I was about the new forms, but he assured me it would work and he took all the paperwork and info I had. Over all a very smooth and stress free experience. Super grateful for their help! Ps. This occurred on Tuesday, Feb 4th 2020 at 10:30am.
