Bought two types of glutinous rice cake: red bean for 6.99 and black sesame for 5.99. The red bean one is much better than the sesame one because the layer of glutinous rice is thinner and it comes with sweet potato puree inside. Chewy but not dry. The black sesame one on the other side is dry and bland. I wish the taste of sesame could be stronger. Overall the rice cakes are not too sweet and filling. Good as an afternoon snack.
Their mochi is big and pillowy, the rice sushi cake things less moist. Delicious altogether, with amazing packaging and friendly service.
Some things are a hit or miss. Would not recommend the sesame things, it's DRENCHED in sugar with very little sesame. The rice cakes on the other hand were more bland and I liked the flavours, not too overwhelming and good texture.
I read the reviews and hoped that it wouldn't be the case but... this was honestly quite bland. I tried the pumpkin rice cakes and while edible, they were not good. Dry, nothing interesting, and even though some parts looked different, the texture and taste was completely the same. I expected pumpkin filling or something, but nope. I would not return or recommend.
It was okay.....way too pricey for what I received. 8 can go better elsewhere.
Don't. Just don't. It's bad. Taste is all over the place. It's quite amazing how they can make something so simple taste weird. It's really not acceptable. 퍽퍽하고 진짜 맛이 없습니다. 그냥 이상한 맛이에요. 절대 비추 1. It is not what you think it will taste like. It is not ddeuk. 2. When they said it's "Korean style", it means it's really "inspired by Korean ddeuk". 3. There is no chewyness. Just bland taste of different types of carbs.
I really enjoyed the sesame rice cake because I thought the flavours were rich and delicious. I am not a big fan of the red bean one which I have had twice - I thought they could use a little more flavour. The daifuku was good. I think I prefer the strawberry over the mango. I do agree with some of the previous reviewers that the setup of how to order is not entirely intuitive (you have to go to the middle of the shop to order, but the layout makes it seem like you can order right at the front). Perhaps some improved signage (arrows on the floors?) could help.
