I have been trying for years, without success, to obtain the Canadian disability tax credit (DTC) for my brother, who has been clearly mentally challenged all his life (he is now 63) and rightfully deserved the credit. The CRA kept rejecting the applications, even though his physician had completed them in full. I came across Valentin & Blackstock Psychology, but was not hopeful for an appointment during the early summer because of Covid-19. But I got one right away for my brother! They did a comprehensive assessment on him to determine his intellectual capacity. It took several hours and the report was about a dozen pages long, very detailed, and accurately reflected my brother's impairment. They also completed the CRA's DTC application for me. A few weeks after that, the CRA approved the application, all thanks to Dr. Valentin and the staff at Valentin and Blackstock. Thank you for the excellent service!

Over rated! I suffer seriously and got absolutely no help from them! I never had such problems until this accident! Did not like anything about the assessment the office looks dirty! I had to say bye 4 times to the lady at the front until she acknowledged me but still did not say anything back just looked at me!
I was able to access their services through post secondary school. I picked them because they gave the best offer for students( price and assessment), then during the assessment I felt comfortable and understood throughout the whole process and the documentation they gives me was very detailed. From an Older Student: The comprehensive psychoeducational assessment I had done was very insightful. What helped get the most out of it was being as forthcoming and truthful as possible. The team here will work with you and truly help find an accurate diagnosis. They did not just slap the common label on me as people would assume. Rather looked at all factors (assessment results, medical records, report cards, social life... etc) to draw more informed and precise conclusions.
Dr Blackstock is brilliant and has a natural ability to connect with kids. He was the only person my son would speak to.
