The Yokohama Xat is the best tire I have ever used and the support from the Yokohama team has been great!
This is my first time ever owning this brand of tires, and its only because of a brand new car that I had purchased. The car was purchased April of 2014, with Yokohoma summer tires on it, with about 7000km on the tires, and October rolling around, I switched them out and put my winter tires on them. This spring (3 weeks ago) I went to load the tires to get them back on the car I noticed dry rot. So upon arriving at the dealership where I bought my car to get them swapped I had a technician look at them, he informed me I had to contact Yokohama in regards to my warranty. So I called Yokohama, and they told me the dealership was to inspect and contact them not me. So I went back into the dealership upset as I had better things to do than play he said she said, and asked for a supervisor, there they told me an inspector was actually to come in that day to look at the tires. So happily I left the tires there, and 2 days later I heard nothing. I called the dealership to see what's going on, they informed me that the inspector did not show up as was in Alberta, and there is only 1 person that inspects these tires for SK and AB... really??? And I told him that they should have at least had the courtesy to call and let me know, you know good customer service??? And the inspector would not be around for 4 weeks. Nice so for 3 weeks I spend driving my car.. my new job has me commuting 100km round trip on winter tires in summer weather. Burning off perfectly good winter tires. Still I have not heard anything, and ended up purchasing another set of tires for the summer season. Lesson learned, new vehicle or not inquire how the warranty works. Really the tires being less than a year old, I should have been able to walk out with a different set. I will never ever use this brand. And definitely tell everyone to stay away!!!
