I love Thornton's. Loved. Sadly, like Twin Pines, it's going away leaving few options in the downtown area. Get in there while you can; this week and then curtains. Good luck to the proprietors!

Best atmosphere in Yellowknife. Very cozy, good music, great service. Good selection of tapas. Food was good quality. Only criticism: temp in the restaurant was too low (and I live here and am used to the cold)

(due to a horrible work schedule) I was finally able to visit this establishment. Even though I was constantly reminded that the items I ordered were for parties of more than one (charcuterie, sangria etc) and was made to feel as if I HAD to have a second (person in party), I did enjoy the experience. Sure, the proteins/meats (prosciutto, sausage etc) offered are common (I'd love to see caribou, fluffalo etc), the quality of ingredients were great, and I was pleased to see an establishment such as this in YK.

This establishment has become a Sunday brunch tradition for a small group of us. The family style serving strikes the perfect atmosphere and the staff is friendly and fast. The food is fantastic!!!

Excellent food and ambiance. I had the only vegetarian option, Mac N Cheese. No vegan options on the menu, but the chef prepared a vegan dish for my partner. Now That's Service!!! I'm ordering a vegan dish on the next visit as it was delish! Great service too.

By far the best brunch I have ever had. An all you can eat, but not buffet brunch, for 25. Add on 25 bottomless mimosas and there's no better way to spend a Sunday. How it works is you choose your eggs cooked any way or you can choose a frittata, 2 omlette otions (one meat and one vegetarian option) and 2 eggs Benedict options (again one meat and one vegetarian option). On the bar they set up a Serve Yourself coffee, tea, juice and water station. Plus a meat and cheese board, fruit platter, and yogurt parfaits. Your eggs then come served with a platter filled with homemade hash browns, ham, buttermilk pancakes, and the most delicious stuffed French toast. I seriously cannot get enough of the French toast. Just be warned that by the time you finish brunch the only thing you'll be doing with the rest of your Sunday is passing out on the couch from your food coma. I'd also really strongly recommended that you book reservations to ensure you get a table. Their dinner menu is also great and they have added a few more options for vegetarian meals to this Winter's menu. Overall I really really strongly recommend that you try this restaurant. It's great for a romantic date night but also just for a night out with the girls or guys.
