A lovely local yarn store with a wide variety of high-quality yarns, run by an expert knitter who is a source of useful information. If Linda doesn't know the answer she knows who to ask. This is a good place to enjoy the beauty of yarn and what you can make from it.

Such a cute local store with a wide variety. The clerk very nice and helped me figure out the right crochet hook I needed. Everything was 20% off so I got plenty to start a project while on vacation.
Wonderful wool shop with tonnes of interesting stock. Owner is charming and extremely helpful. Great find for knitting fanatics!
This Local Yarn Store (LYS) is now Yarn and Company and has changed ownership in 2015. You can still count on the same high quality yarns and personalized expert knitters to help you with finding the perfect project. Great selection of sock weight and finer yarns, Noro, Rowan, Hand Dyed yarns, Knitter's Pride needles and lots of other goodies like yarn bowls. Definite must see for knitters visiting the Bow Valley.
I am the owner of Yarn & Co.in Canmore. We have been open since February 2015. The information posted on this site has been put here by Google and it is incorrect. If you refer back to our website you will find the most current information, including the correct phone number. Sadly the negative comments in this posting do not apply to our shop but a shop that was previously at this location. I sincerely hope that you will come and enjoy shopping in our cosy, welcoming shop! Come see us soon!
The woman in this shop was most unpleasant. My daughter asked if she could take a photograph of a sign attached to a sample -- the sign so she could remember the name of the pattern. The woman snarled "NO". My daughter then asked for a slip of paper so she could write down the name of the pattern, which was a freebie on an internet site. This was provided very grudgingly. We left without buying anything. Had the woman been more agreeable, we would have bought the yarn to make the pattern (and found the pattern on the internet), or at least bought something in the shop. I agree that it's quite appropriate not to allow photographs in a store. However, the woman could have merely said, "We don't allow photographs, but here's a piece of paper so you can write down the pattern name". A pleasant enough response which protected the right of the store to not allow photographs, yet still allowed the customer to remember the information. An unpleasant experience. I won't be going back.
I have always had a wonderful experience when going into Knit & Caboodle. It restores my faith in LYS (local yarn stores). They are not overly pushy, but there to help when I need it. Above all else, they make even my fiancee feel comfortable, which is always a good thing, considering how often he has to come to yarn stores with me! Excellent selection of workhorse to specialty, expensive yarns, I go back as often as I can. They also have the largest selection of Chiagoo red needles that I've seen since Victoria!
