The food here is great - very different from the standard fare. I would really recommend the Momos with Yak, and the goat curry! The portions were very generous and I had enough leftovers to take home for another meal. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Also, the drink prices were definitely lower than average! Our server was good - very attentive and pleasant. He was the only one serving, but it wasn't busy when we went on a Tuesday night. I suspect this could become an issue on busier nights, but perhaps they have an extra server for the weekends. I would recommend sitting closer to the front of the restaurant if there is room available - we sat closer to the back and it was a little drafty due to the kitchen door being open. Overall, though, it was a great experience and we look forward to going back!

Very nice owner who takes his time to speak to patrons. Food was hot and very good! You can choose how spicy you would like the dishes. Make you you try the Yak! Will be coming again soon!

The owner is a very nice guy. The Masala Fish dish is excellent. I am not good with spicy food, and both the chef and the owner always accommodate me by spicing the fish just right. Very tasty. This is a lovely gem of a place.

This place has wonderful, spicy, Nepali food and very decent prices for alcohol. On top of that the owner (Janus) and chef (Shiva) and great hosts. I've had a few awesome evenings with friends here - would highly recommend checking it out!

Nice change for us Vancouverites that have so many choices at hand. Almost all the dishes seemed exotic but the prices were quite reasonable. Service was excellent the three times we've been.

Goat stew was tender and succulent, just the right amount of spice. Make sure to try the poached pear -- heavenly soft and warm with ginger and spices. Beautiful

I was looking forward to my first experience at the Yak & Yeti Bistro. I was greatly disappointed in the service and the food. The server/owner was patronizing when we asked about certain dishes. It felt like he though we were foolish for asking any questions about the food. We sat across from the bar and while we ate our dinner the server was leaned over the bar on his cell phone facing us. It was uncomfortable and invasive. I had the Yak which was tasty but small for the price and the sides (boiled potatoes and vegetables) were beyond bland. The momos were tasty but the casing was soggy and broken. The best part of my meal was the sauces. I'd give the sauces five stars. Everything else a generous two stars. Never going back!
