An extremely helpful facility to check out if you find yourself unemployed and need some assistance with any number of issues. This assistance could include workshops on various employment related topics such as; unique and successful approaches to job search, effective resume writing, job interview techniques, changing fields, accessing further education etc. In addition, they provide a huge array of links to job posting sites, and temp agencies, an in house job board, desk top computers and printer access, phone access, free coffee and filtered h20. The staff are very approachable, empathetic and knowledgable.

The Case managers are really nice, helpful and supportive. The trainings do help. I had an interview on the day they had their interview skills workshop, but one of the case managers (conducting the workshop) went out of the way and helped me the day prior with some personal guidance. She did a mock interview with me which helped me polish my interview skills and made me feel confident. Thanks to the team I got the job!!!

In December 2017, I did my practicum at Fraser works, since then I have explored many other employment centres. I have found most of staff were very supportive, but what I found to different from other employment centres is the person who does the workshops. They are very open minded to using technology to help people who have writing difficulties. She allowed me to present in her workshop ideas such things as: Grammarly, Text to speech program and Resume templates. Most other workshops don’t have time and feel that people just need someone to write their resume. As person with dyslexia, I am always looking for ways to be more independent and up to date. I found the most of staff and management in this employment centre we’re willing to give me idea’s to be successful and more importantly listen to my ideas whole heartily. If this was my catchment centre, I would go there today. The only thing it doesn't have is the fancy decor that other places have.
