I work nearby and was intrigued by this place-there aren't many mom and pop restaurants in this area. I phoned my order in ahead of time for pickup. The lunch special was a bacon cheeseburger with your choice of side- I chose the chicken noodle soup. When I arrived to pick up the order the first thing I noticed was the hand sanitizer on a table next to the door. There was no one currently dining in the restaurant while I was there but it was a bit early for lunch-11am. The owner's young son was there watching a video on his tablet and he said hello to me. I went to the cash register and picked up and paid for my meal. The lady was very friendly as was her precocious son who urged me to come again which made me laugh. The burger was packed with toppings and was nicely seasoned, but what really stole the show was the soup. It was prepared from scratch which included a very flavorful stock. It was packed with noodles, chicken and vegetables. It had an ever so delicate aroma of star anise which was an unusual surprise that I enjoyed. I'll definitely be back to try some other items and I'm looking forward to dining in when things settle from Covid a bit more.

An excellent breakfast spot, very blue collar, probably the best value for the buck in the city. Always leave full. Good food. Lunch is also great.
