well I WAS going to go to this place with my gold and old money - but after reading all of these bad reviews - I think I'll find another place. Thanks for the heads up to all of you people who left reviews. PLEASE UNDERSTAND: I cannot review this place as I've never been there.

I love the new location. Lots of room. Owner is very friendly. He gave me great information on my paper money collection. My kids love when I bring them here, They always get to pick free coins from "the coin basket".
I have tried going to the store on 3 separate occasions during regular business hours but each time have found the door locked and nobody there. Not sure how they stay in business. I purchase lots of coins/bullion from the other 2 coin stores in Winnipeg and wouldn't mind seeing what AB Coins has to offer but they need to be accessible. I suggest to the owner to at least have a single page website that can easily be obtained for free these days. I like to see the smaller stores do well but they have to think a little more like a business rather than a hobby.
Owner was interested in my 1937 mint condition 1 bill - he ended up stealing it from me under the ruse he had to go to the washroom and I stepped outside gathering up all my coins and the paper dollars, so he could go to the washroom. When outside I realized that the best 1937 dollar bill I had was gone, it was not in with the others. When he opened back up this door, He would not go behind his counter where he had been perusing my items...he then said I probably lost it outside and at that point I had no proof as the audit trail was broken...if you go there I suggest you have a hidden camera on you as he is a real thief. If u go their look him straight in the eye and ask him about this rating is minus 100
Store is never open. No response. Probably closed long ago.
What a joke! I brought in a bunch of coins to sell , and his appraisals kept going down so he would have enough money on hand to pay the next customer whom he knew had also a lot of coins. I have not returned to his little hole in the wall and saved myself a lot of money by going to Collectables Canada on McPhillips St. Owner of AB Coins thought he was being savy HUH! One star is being nice
I have quite the rare collection passed down to my by my grandpa, i approached this guy threw his kijiji add, He insisted on meeting me at the Tim Hortons on main by semple, the guy was very rude and knocked my collection before he even saw it or even before i finished describing my horde. i later discovered he has no shop and works out of his car at.. you guest it Tim Hortons.. i DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MAN TO ANYONE THAT DOESN'T WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF. one coin in my collection that this man said was junk is worth 10,000 to a different collector. this guys bad news and his response is the classic waa waa you'd expect from a busted scammer. I got 9000 for that coin, that mr tim horton said was only worth 5
Called in to ask about a coin I had and the guy who answer the phone wouldn’t give me any info, but insisted I come down to the store and then hung up on me, the call didn’t disconnect, the guy actually hung up...
