I applied for a credit card online and received an email saying I was approved and just had to go into the closest location to present proof of ID. No problem I thought. I go in and they say I need to become a member first, meaning signing up for a chequing account. Okay, I didn't sign up for a chequing account I just wanted the credit card but it's free so whatever. I also need to pay 1 to become a member, again, annoying but it's just a dollar. I get home and a couple days later I get a call saying that they can't give me the credit card because my credit score is too new but I can get a much worse credit card if I wanted. At this point I'm pretty frustrated at the whole situation and time I've wasted so I ask for my whole account to just be canceled. She replies okay. As for my dollar I ask about it I think a week later and she says I have to go into the branch to pick it up. You've got to be kidding me. So now I'm out the time spent at the branch, time spent writing this review, and my dollar as I refuse to waste anymore time with Meridian. All I wanted was a credit card. A simple yes or no approval would have been nice.

The team at Meridian is amazing! They gave us great advice and excellent guidance for our mortgage. My husband and I are new to Meridian, but we are looking forward to switching all our banking there!

My mother suggested this route and I was sceptical from the beginning. Horrible service, called me at 3:05 for missing my 3:15 appointment I was on my way to, then when I corrected her she hung up.. Went in with a good credit score of over 800 and 13.000 down payment and they didn’t even bother... Don’t even waste your time, go to a mortgage broker before credit union!!

The debit cards are pretty terrible and do not work at certain businesses. The tap function seems to work when it wants to. 3 star review is very good for the Windsor location. What was it two years ago meridian didn't even have tap cards or online banking. And now your pretending to be the next BMO? Come on now..
