John Gleason
I deal with Crohns Disease and Dr. Tarabain was my doctor for about 4 years. I do not throw this around lightly, but I would not recommend him to anyone I know. I strongly believe my quality of life would be better if I had left him sooner for another doctor that was willing to take the time to look at the details of my case more carefully. He exhibits no signs whatsoever of caring about, or advancing his career and the health of his patients beyond a generalized diagnosis and treatment. He clearly has more of a desire just be away on vacation, which it seems like he's on 6 months of the year. At numerous appointments, he walked into the room unprepared, and not up to speed on my case, at all. (Asking me questions like, what meds are you on now? The same ones he put me on.) To control the length of our appointments, he does this very comforting and caring trick of grabbing the door handle, hand tensed ready to open, waiting for you to stop talking with his face exuding boredom. Blink, and he's gone. After every blood test test I requested, and after the tests he would on occasion have me do, I would never get results back. I had to fight to hear them, and they would never be detailed. Only, \they were fine.\ Dr. Tarabain appears intimidated by anyone who will second guess him, or want to dig deeper into results that he deemed, \fine.\ He wants obedient patients who don't ask questions, and are happy with just good enough. After 4 years of dealing with his ignorance, laziness, un-replied emails, and frowning receptionists, I found a new doctor who is aggressive and highly motivated. My life has already improved significantly! Please, never feel like you're stuck with any doctor. If you aren't happy, leave, don't make my mistake. Your health is your job, be involved and don't settle for 'good enough.'
