When I first was looking for a preschool for my first child, the 2 things that were important for me where, a fun and loving learning environment and the length of the morning session. I found this in Buena Vista Montessori. I am there now for our 5th year and I can't imagine the lives of my children without this lovely place and amazing teachers. The loving and calm teaching environment has been so beneficial for all my 3 kids, all of them are so different, but the teacher always seem to find the right way to teach them. The 4 hours a day was a bonus! It is amazing how much the kids learn, when they go to Kindergarten most of them are reading/writing (small books and simple words) and basic counting/math. Besides this, every week there is a new theme and work stations to go with that. In this fun environment there is singing, sharing, work time with letters, numbers and practical living, story time, lunchtime, clean up time and the best part is that the kids play outside every day (no matter what the weather!!), for which they have a great little play ground. I have recommended this preschool to many of my friends. For all the above reasons, but mostly because it is truly a great safe and warm environment to drop your kids off.....Last but most important, the teachers are absolutely fantastic. So great with the kids, but also so warm and welcome with the parents, which in my opinion is very important if you leave your 3 and 4 year old kids somewhere. During our fourth year at this school, we moved farther away, but still I make the drive out to Buena Vista Montessori, I would not want my kids to miss out on this little piece of heaven on earth!
My son started at Buena Vista Montessori in September 2018, at just shy of 3 years of age. Teacher Bree, Teacher Linda and Teacher Sam have provided uncompromising care and education to him and to all of the children in the class. Our son is learning new concepts every single time he walks into the classroom... from practical life skills to fun facts about space! He gets to learn, be immersed in arts and play outside regularly... a perfect balance! We could not appreciate the one-on-one approach that they have any more than we do already. We truly feel like the teachers know our son well and have customized their approach with him to be the most beneficial and comfortable for his education. This little school is everything that we wanted it to be and I am endlessly grateful that we opted for an intimate program over one of the large preschools in the area. Due shortly with baby #2, I cannot wait to get him on the waitlist for BVM!
I am beyond thrilled that my son has the privileged to attend Buena Vista Montessori. Not only are the teacher's wonderful, caring and brilliant at what they do, the space is clean organized and a wonderful space for little minds to learn. Our son asks every morning if he gets to go to preschool today because he loves it that much!
I cannot say enough good things about this preschool and Teacher Bree, Teacher Linda and Teacher Sam. 2 of my boys have attended the preschool and my middle child who suffers from anxiety, was not anxious at all! The love and care that these teachers feel for the kids is palpable and because of this, the learning environment is full of little children who feel confident, calm and very happy to be at school. My favourite part is the way in which the teachers greet each child, one by one as they walk in the door. They connect with the child right away and make the child feel so welcome and loved. This preschool is the best, I am so sad that this is our last year with them.
