SL is a great company to work for! I am working as staff since last year. What I like best about my experience here is how close everyone is with each other. They are not just residents living in the home - they are friends, and a second family.

I have been living at White House Lodge Supportive Living Residence since last September 2019. I was homeless in Guelph, diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 18 and in bad physical health due to drinking and drug use. Since coming to White House, I have not touched any drugs, my mind is clear, I am at peace and stable. I receive good support services and medication management. Cyndy is great – she is compassionate, has nerves of steel and gives us tough love. I am amazed by her! I am grateful and thankful to SupportiveLiving for my new life.

Ive been at other group homes before and at White House for 8 years. The difference it has made in my life is I turned my life around I am getting along with staff and its like a second family here. I have new friends and the support system here helped me achieve my goals like get my passport and drivers licence. The staff and other residence look out for each other. The asset is to help others. I take people places if they need to go somewhere. I recemmend living here. Managers is great because everyone helps everyone!

I was in a retirement home before and got kicked out for drinking. I have been living here at White House for 6 years. My life has changed because I don’t drink anymore and I am a better person and happier. I like the staff and they help me when I am having a bad day. I don’t have a lot of friends so I mostly stay in my room but I like that because its quiet and you can think on your own. Ken and Cindy are nice and give support.

I was living in the next town over with my teenage son in my own apartment but then I was hospitalized last year. It brought on high anxiety and landlord issues. I was acting off and needed to recuperate. Living in a SL home has changed my life where it has matured me and accepted different mental health problems. I am nonjudgemental and people need to stop putting down those with mental issues. I am stronger now and at White House Lodge, I want to be tidier and cleaner. The manager here Cyndy is like a second mom to me. With tough love, we made a connection. She has a big job here and she is managing it well! I have grown into learning to appreciate what I have and be content. The residents here are like my family.

I used to live in Cambridge on my own but I was around bad freinds and they would pressure me to smoke up. After being at White House Lodge Supportive Living residense I quit drugs and drinking and I am more at peace and stable in my life. I have a social worker who takes me out. I saw Phantom of the Opara last week. I hang out with good freinds at the house we go out for coffee shop for clothes grab a burger. I like the staff. Cyndy is a good help. They are supportive and look out for you. I have my own smart tv in my own room and privacy. I am not stuck at the house all day. I go out and help by doing the groceries or picking up packages. I am happy here for last 12 years.”
