Took AST1 this weekend with Rob as our professional guide. I would like to say thank-you to him and our assistant guide Meagan. They were safe, prepared, professional, and brimming with knowledge which made for an excellent course. The zoom segment on Saturday covered the \theory\ and was well laid out. The Sunday \field\ day was excellent. It taught us how to plan a safe trip, how to recognize and assess conditions/slopes/hazards, and finally steps to take should you need to do a rescue. Overall, a great weekend, and again kudos to Rob and Meagan.

Fantastic Experience. I participated in the Introduction to Split-boarding. Highly recommended! April is an excellent guide, patient and extremely knowledgeable.

I just finished my AST 1 in Squamish, Marcus in the classroom session was incredibly knowledgeable and his passion for teaching others about mountain safety made for a welcoming environment. Crazy amount of great info! Chloe made the field training a blast making sure we were tested throughly in our knowledge, especially in our companion rescue skills. I honestly know WAY more now and my passion for the mountains has grown! Also, the shuttle drive was amazing keeping us safe on the icy roads, especially on the way down with many cars stuck. MSAA heard about this and called all of us to make sure we were ok and made it down safely. Very caring move from them!

I completed my AST 1 with ski guide Chloe. She was very professional, informative and an amazing teacher. Was extremely satisfied with this course. Kat helped organize the logistics and we exchanged many emails sorting logistics and costs. She was patient and helpful through the entire process. We did a private group and Mountain Skills academy was able to book a nice classroom for the first day of our course. I definitely recommend this as we were able to interact with the instructor and each other much easier then I imagine we would’ve been able to online. Thanks!

I had an awesome time out with April, our instructor, and a few other folks during the Intro to Backcountry class! She gave great tips and tricks for splitboarders, was responsive to the needs of everyone in the group, and was full of information and always happy to share. I had a great experience!
