Yesterday at my townhouse condo complex there was a contractor on the roof, easily 30ft in air, not tied off with a harness on, using a leaf blower to clean gutters while walking around on the sloped roof right at the edge. I spoke to his helper first saying what is he tied off to? He said \they tried\. When he tried to come to my house and attached roofs, I told him I didn't want him on my roof. I was able to convince him not to do the work without temporary/permanent anchors or any other way to do the work safely. Obviously he wasn't aware until I clarified what would happen if he got hurt or killed. (Hefty MOL fines, lawsuits etc.) I am certain this work was done last year as well at my house, but I was also not aware of the risks and ignored it, I am happy I am now aware of these things. ACUTE provided great theory and practical training (even with COVID protocols).
