Brian Simons is by far one of my most favorite painters. Taking the courageous step from painting classic landscapes and seascapes into painting whimsical, fun, really out-there paintings is a huge dare - and he does it so successfully I wish I could buy every one of his paintings. They are brilliantly fun, color-saturated and always off-the cuff funny and/or poignant. All with an underlying message of deep love for the world, the people on it and the cosmos.
