When I retired, my wife and I were looking for a recreational activity that we could do together. We settled on Ballroom Dancing. We were introduced to the Victoria Ballroom Dance Society (VBDS) and decided to join after taking their Introduction to Ballroom Dance class. It is a great way to try ballroom dancing quickly and cheaply. Then we joined the VBDS. That gave us access to their lessons and practices. Their instructors are certified and very personable. A lot of people think of ballroom dance as only competitive, but there are many social dances around. So the instruction involves proper technique with an eye for social settings. The lessons offered are sequential, progressive and fun. The membership is made up of both social and competitive dancers, all who are friendly and helpful.
