Getting a hold of a property manager is as likely as elmer fudd is to catch bugs bunny. This can obviously get frustrating, as I'm a realtor looking for additional info outside of the provided strata documentation. Derek answered right away and spent the time to help me get the info I needed for my client. Gateway, you've got a good one. Thx Derek.

Know of one building they manage like a slumlord. Tenant suites and common areas are not maintained on a regular basis and not in a timely manner. The plumping is going in the old building instead of addressing it appropriately they attempt to blame tenants when their units flood. They don't assist with the cleanup. Leave the tenants to do the immediate cleanup and a week (plus) a cleaning restoration company is sent in, after mold settles in to floor. Took 4-6 months to have major appliances replaced in a few suites. Repairs are not responded to in a timely manner. Some tenants have waited years for minor repairs in their suite. Many tenants complained their repairs weren't complete or lead to further problems. One employee left and surely due to the poor management. This person mentioned to a few tenants that the company is looking to find any way to evict or force long-term tenants to \voluntarily\ move because they want to increase the rent significantly higher. I suspect this company underpays and over works their employees. Been a high turnover of staff. In a common areas, flooding has happened due to pipes bursting. Each incident wasn't fully repaired and cleaned until months after the flooding. A couple incidents there was no ceiling and walls had visible water damage. The carpet remained waterlogged for extended period of time. Tenants had no choice to walk over the waterlogged carpet to get to their suites and other common areas. You could smell the mold through out the building beyond the ill-repair. Tenants complained to property manager and were told they were awaiting approval for the major repairs. The building surely is below the BC building standards. Remove review
Gateway manages our apartment building. We have experienced 15 years of property mismanagement. They are non responsive to ongoing problems with the building and with residents who continually don't comply with the smoking bylaws. They only thing they manage well is their excuses for their lack of action. If I could I would give them no stars.
The worst landlords I have ever encountered. Caretaker, David Robinson, took a disliking to me and went around soliciting noise complaints to evict me and my 3 yr old daughter. Verbally abusive, refusal to fix any issues in the suite, lied to the tenancy board about me. Also have to walk my daughter thru clouds of cigarette smoke when we come home because people smoke in the hallways and caretaker, Rob Willemse, told me to leave if I don't like it. Apartments full of black mold because zero ventilation in any of these run down suites. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
They have got to be the worst property management company i have dealt with. That is saying a lot based off of the fact just about every property management firm in Victoria is terrible. I own multiple condos across Great Victoria and my Era property has given me the biggest backlash in regards to management. Poor across all tiers. In-house manager in my building is an air-head, corporate managers are unresponsive and when they are, absolutely arrogant.
